Key Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Federal Skilled Worker Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Skilled Work Experience
Have at least one year of continuous full-time (or an equivalent in part-time) skilled work experience in a National Occupational Classification (NOC) level 0, A, or B occupation within the last 10 years.
Language Proficiency
Demonstrate proficiency in English or French through approved language tests (such as IELTS or CELPIP for English).

Education
Have completed a foreign educational credential assessment (ECA) to ensure its equivalence to Canadian standards.

Adaptability
Factors such as having a valid job offer, a Canadian educational credential, or prior work or study experience in Canada may enhance the application.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Skilled Work Experience:

Documents

Personal Documents:

  1. Passport:
    • A valid passport with at least six months of validity.
  2. Language Proficiency Test Results:
    • Copies of language test results (IELTS, CELPIP, or TEF).
  3. Educational Credentials:
    • Copies of transcripts, diplomas, and degrees. Include the Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report.
  4. Work Experience Documents:
    • Reference letters, employment contracts, or other proof of one year or more of skilled work experience.

Express Entry Profile Documents:

  1. Express Entry Profile Number and Job Seeker Validation Code:
    • Obtain these from your Express Entry profile.
  2. Provincial Nomination (if applicable):
    • If nominated by a province, provide the nomination certificate.

Additional Documents:

  1. Proof of Funds:
    • Bank statements or other financial documents to demonstrate you have enough funds to settle in Canada.
  2. Medical Examination:
    • Undergo a medical examination by an approved panel physician.
  3. Police Clearance Certificate:
    • Obtain a police clearance certificate from all countries where you have lived for six or more consecutive months since the age of 18.

Application Process

Create Express Entry Profile
Provide detailed information about your skills, work experience, language proficiency, education, and other relevant details.
Receive Invitation to Apply (ITA)
If your CRS score is high enough, you may receive an ITA to apply for permanent residence.

Submit Full Application
Complete and submit the full application within the given time frame.

Medical Examination and Background Check
Undergo a medical examination and obtain a police clearance certificate.

Receive Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR)
If approved, you will receive a COPR, and you can then travel to Canada as a permanent resident.
