Canada Spousal Visa

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible to sponsor your spouse, partner, or dependent child:

  1. Age Requirement:
    • You must be at least 18 years old at the time of the application.
  2. Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency:
    • You must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada.
      • If you are a Canadian citizen living outside Canada, you must demonstrate your intention to reside in Canada when your sponsored family members become permanent residents.
      • Permanent residents living outside Canada are not eligible to sponsor.
  3. Financial Stability:
    • You need to prove that you are not currently receiving social assistance for reasons other than a disability.
  4. Basic Needs Provision:
    • You must demonstrate the ability to provide for the basic needs of the individuals you intend to sponsor.

Sponsorship Agreement:

When you decide to sponsor your family members, both you and your sponsored family members will need to agree to certain responsibilities outlined in the sponsorship agreement. This includes:

  1. Basic Needs Provision:
    • You commit to providing for the basic needs of your sponsored family members during the undertaking period.
  2. Effort towards Self-Support:
    • The person you sponsor agrees to make every effort to support themselves and their family members.

Application Process:

To initiate the sponsorship process:

  1. Form Submission:
    • Complete and sign the required forms, including the undertaking and sponsorship agreement.
  2. Documentation:
    • Gather necessary documents to support your eligibility and the relationship with your sponsored family members.
  3. Undertaking Period:
    • Understand and agree to the undertaking period, during which you commit to supporting your sponsored family members.
